PEEK/PES
These engineering plastics feature excellent high temperature performance combined with much greater
tensile strength than fluoropolymers.
PEEK resins have room temperature tensile strength in excess of 75 Mpa (10,000 PSI) with a service
temperature of 248° C (480° F). They provide good chemical resistance also, but must be dried
prior to processing.
PES resins also feature much higher tensile strength than fluoropolymers. PES is amorphous so it
can be injection molded with good dimensional stabilbity with some compromise on chemical resistance
vs. PEEK or PFA type resins. It's service temperature is less than PEEK at 185° C (365° F),
and it offers a good resistance to sterilization techniques and hydrolysis.
Several reinforced grades of these resins are available including carbon fiber reinforced grades
with static dissipation properties, even higher tensile strength, and improved friction and wear.
Custom compounds can be done upon request to adjust the properties of these excellent engineering
resins even further to address application needs.
THV
THV resins are fluorinated terpolymers that feature moderate chemical resistance, lower processing
temperatures, low flex modulus with high elongation. They can be bonded to various surfaces more
readily than most fluoropolymers and are used in application like film and tubing where flexibility
and clarity are important.
Several filled versions of THV are available along with customized offerings to address specialized
application needs.
