Colorant-Chromatics color concentrates are offered in various pigment strengths and resin
viscosities to address the engineering requirements of the fluoropolymer processor.
Pigment loadings and resin viscosities are selected to optimize pigment dispersion in the final
polymer mix. Concentrate selection for extrusion applications depends on the processor's extruder
L/D ratio, screw design, extrusion speed and other design factors such as wall thickness.
Color concentrate selection must take into account the following extrusion design requirements for
the following typical applications:

Primary Wire Insulation

Desired opacity or translucency of the insulation
Wall thickness
Conductor size and color
Line speeds
Processor screw design
Insulation electrical requirements

Film, Tubing and Profile Shapes

Desired opacity or translucency
Wall thickness
Extrusion dwell time and processing temperatures

Wire and Cable Jacketing

Desired opacity or translucency
Wall thickness
Processor screw design

Colorant-Chromatics color concentrates and related products are designed to deliver
consistent and uniform dispersion. State of the art compounding equipment is used to produce color
concentrate products. These products have been used in applications that require wall thicknesses
as thin as 1 mil (25 microns).
Colorant-Chromatics color concentrate let down ratios are suggested in the product data
sheets
available from your local sales office or from this website.
